we can use the traditional x’s and y’s of algebra to help understand the geometry
the standard form for the equation of a line is Ax + By = C. The x and y are the same x and y as the axes’ names but now we give them an algebraic representation.
The coordinates for each point on the line represent a “solution” to the equation.
